State Aid

The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) offers a variety of grants and scholarships to students that are Maryland residents. These awards are based on merit and/or financial need and are in addition to aid awarded by a student’s institution. Students who wish to be considered for Maryland state aid must submit a FAFSA or MHEC One-App by March 1 st each year. While eligible students are considered for some types of Maryland aid upon FAFSA/MHEC One-App submission, there are other types of aid which require the MHEC One-App to be completed for certain career/occupational scholarships inside of their MDCAPS portal. The new MHEC One-App is new for 24-25 and helps to streamline the process for MD students when applying for certain types of State scholarships and grants.
