Each fall nearly three quarters of a million dollars in academic scholarships are awarded through 9i´«Ã½ÓÐÏÞ¹«Ë¾.

The admissions application automatically qualifies undergraduate students for consideration for most academic scholarships. Students desiring academic scholarships should submit completed applications for admission, including high school transcripts and standardized test scores, by January 15 for the following fall. Scholarships are not awarded for students who apply for the spring semester.

Scholarship candidates will be notified should additional information be necessary for further consideration. (As an example, prospective Fulton and Henson scholars will be asked to submit additional information directly to the respective scholarship committees.) Formal notification of scholarship typically occurs by mid-March. Subsequent awards may occur after March 15th when any additional funds become available.

Eligibility

9i´«Ã½ÓÐÏÞ¹«Ë¾ scholarships are awarded to the most meritorious of applicants. Meritorious standards are defined by the combination of both, highly competitive scores on the SAT or ACT as well as exceptional grades in challenging course work. Additionally, students may be eligible for a variety of scholarships based upon leadership, particular majors, and financial need along with their academic records.

There are many 9i´«Ã½ÓÐÏÞ¹«Ë¾ institutional and foundation scholarship opportunities which are often renewable for four years.

9i´«Ã½ÓÐÏÞ¹«Ë¾ offers a number of Graduate Assistantships on a competitive basis.

Graduate assistants are eligible to receive a salary and tuition waiver of up to 18 credits per year (fall, winter, spring, and summer I and II). To be eligible for the tuition waiver students must enroll for a minimum of six credits in both the fall and spring terms. Tuition is waived only for courses applicable toward master's degree requirements. The waiver of tuition does not include waiver of fees.

Assistantships are generally awarded for one semester, beginning in the fall, and may be continued in the spring semester, based on the recommendation of the dean, department chair or graduate program director. International students may work on campus provided they are maintaining F-1 status, do not work more than a total of 20 hours per week while school is in session and do not displace a U. S. resident. International students may be employed full time during holidays and vacation periods, including summer vacations, provided they are eligible and intend to register for the next school term. The 20-hour-per-week limit on employment while school is in session applies to all types of on-campus employment, including graduate assistantship.
